Radion induced baryogenesis

Abstract: Recent work in two-brane Randall-Sundrum models has shown that the radion can drive parametric amplification of particles on the TeV brane leading to a stage of cosmology similar to preheating. We consider radion induced preheating as a mechanism for electroweak scale baryogenesis and estimate the baryon to entropy ratio for some regions of parameter space. We also predict an upper bound for the radion mass, which makes this baryogenesis mechanism testable. Finally, we verify some assumptions with numerical ca… Show more

“…These also determine the value of the SM-like Higgs mass at the loop level. Values of the third generation squark masses of about 1 TeV lead to SM-like Higgs masses in the 115-130 GeV range [6]- [15]. Hence, recent hints of a Higgs mass of about 125 GeV are consistent with MSSM predictions [16].…”

“…This has the correct form for the evolution equation for the gauge couplings from the scale M GU T , where 1/g 2 i = 2, to other energies, provided we interpret 15) or, equivalently the right panel in this figure, we see that the LHC has had a pretty significant effect on the expectation of M unif . We clearly see that scales of order 10 8 − 10 15 GeV have become more favored, whereas there is a clear depletion of probability near the weak scale.…”

“…The calculations make use of the generic results of Refs. [56][57][58][59][60] and the only approximations used in the SARAH implementation of the two-loop calculations are (1) the gaugeless limit, i.e. setting g 1 = g 2 = 0, and (2) neglecting the momentum dependence, i.e.…”

“…[22,90,91], arises either in the MSSM beyond the gaugeless limit, or in theories beyond the MSSM even in the gaugeless limit, in that the DR mass-squred of Goldstone bosons may be negative (and the Goldstone bosons themselves have non-zero couplings to the Higgs). The full on-shell mass of course being zero, the DR Goldstone boson mass parameter is thus of the same order as loop corrections and is small.…”
