Radiologic Findings of Renal Hemangioma: Report of Three Cases

Abstract: Renal hemangioma is an uncommon benign tumor which usually causes painless or painful gross hematuria. Its preoperative diagnosis is extremely difficult or even impossible. We experienced three cases of renal hemangioma, located mainly at the pelvocalyceal junction or in the inner medulla. US demonstrated variable echogenecity, and CT revealed a lack of significant enhancement. Where there is gross hematuria in a young adult, especially when the renal mass located in the pelvocalyceal junction or inner medulla … Show more

“…Hematuria, hypertension, and flank pain are nonspecific features seen in ah, angiosarcoma, and rcc 4 . All of those entities can demonstrate echogenicity on ultrasonography and can appear as a well-demarcated, solid, heterogeneous avidly-enhancing lesion on contrastenhanced ct 9 . Hypervascular conventional rcc is much more frequently encountered than ah in the kidney, and those lesions have a large overlap in imaging appearance, making a confident prospective imaging diagnosis of a renal vascular tumour unlikely.…”

“…[5] The most widespread clinical sign is macrohematuria. [2,3] In some cases colicky pain can be observed. Renal rupture which was determined in our cases has not been reported in the English literature.…”
