“…It is important to know that even a cyst or a cystic like lesion with ragged margins is suspected to be malignant until contrary proof. The sun-ray trabecular pattern at the periphery of a lesion is a pathognomonic sign of malignancy [6,8]. It was found in our third observation.…”

“…Several parameters can be suspectfull of malignancy. At the standard radiographs, the diffuse bone destruction with poorly defined margins of the malignant tumours contrast with the well defined borders of the benign lesions, especially in the cysts where the limit is sclerotic [6]. The first and the second observations emphasise the importance of the examination of the integrity of the lesion's borders.…”

“…The orthopantomogram (OPG) is a useful first‐line investigation and may reveal lucency in the bone of varying size and shape associated with scalloped margins and resorption of the roots of involved teeth. Occasionally it can be a well‐demarcated unilocular lesion, whereas often it presents as multiloculated expansile lucencies with a so‐called ‘soap bubble’ appearance 5,6 . Computed tomography (CT) may be useful in the assessment of the extent of the tumour, cortical destruction and extension into the neighbouring soft tissues 7,8 …”

“…3 It appears on x-ray as a lytic lesion with scalloped margins. 4 Treatment can be either conservative or radical depending on the clinical type, however, surgery is considered the elective treatment of ameloblastoma. 5 Head and neck pathologies can be challenging due to their anatomical position near the airway which may be distorted by their presence.…”
