“…At 6 weeks there was no significant difference in clinical disease severity or quality-of-life scores, and the degree of improvement in the AVVQ and VCSS was similar to that reported in other randomized trials 9,24,25 . The results of the present study support the findings of other studies that have shown less postprocedural pain after RFA 16,18 , but failed to show differences in outcomes after 1 month 18 . Discrepancies between studies may be explained by variations in procedure technique and followup times.…”

“…Discrepancies between studies may be explained by variations in procedure technique and followup times. In contrast to the RECOVERY trial 18 , minor complications including paraesthesia, thrombophlebitis and skin infections were not more prevalent in the EVLA group at any time point. One patient in the RFA group had a pulmonary embolus 10 days after the procedure.…”

“…VCSS and VDS scores at 12 days, 3 months and 1 year also showed a significant reduction in scores from 7,16,26 to 0 in 97 patients (p<0.001) for VCSS and for VDS from 3,2 in 95 patients to 0 thus showing an excellent symptomatic recovery in the present study. These results are quite similar to those shown in RECOVERY trial [7] completed on 65 patients in 2009. The latter study also showed superior results of the new technique over EVA using Laser with reduced rate of minor complications and improved VCSS and QOL scores at 2 weeks and at 23 days.…”

“…Практически идеальное сочетание радикальности и минимальной травматичности эндовазальных вме-шательств с применением ультразвуковой навига-ции обусловило быстрое их распространение в кли-нической практике и позволило эффективно и без-опасно лечить пациента с варикозной болезнью нижних конечностей (ВБНК) вне стационара [3][4][5][6][7][8].…”
