“…The procedures are complex if derivatization is used, and the analysis cost is low. However, the low detection sensitivity and high limit of detection (LOD) (10 À1 , even 10 1 μg/g (μg/mL), Li et al, 2022) lower the accuracy and precision of results (Li et al, 2007;Liu et al, 2020). TLC also has a simple procedure and low analysis cost but is only suitable for qualitative analysis.…”

“…Although the Ar-ICP provides high ionization efficiency (close to 100%) for the sensitive measurements of all REEs, 43 polyatomic spectral interferences, such as oxide, can pose challenges in accurately quantifying REEs, for example, 139 La 16 O + , 150 Sm 16 O + , and 159 Tb 16 O + interfering with the measurement of 155 Gd + , 166 Er + and 175 Lu + , respectively. The CRC is a simpler and more effective method to solve these oxide interferences compared to other methods, such as mathematic correction, chemical separation, and high-resolution ICP-MS. [43][44][45] However, it should be noted that the use of a CRC in ICP-MS potentially reduces the sensitivity of the analyte.…”

“…10 Among these, ICP-MS is commonly preferred due to its multielement-analysis ability with high sensitivity and satisfactory anti-interference capabilities. 16 However, the conventional pneumatic nebulization (PN) sampling system used in an ICP-MS suffers from low sample introduction efficiency ( η ). 17 Therefore, enhancing the η is essential for achieving high sensitivity and accurate determination of REEs.…”

“…Since the 1940s, Pu isotopes have been released into the environment by human nuclear activities such as the nuclear accidents in Chernobyl and Fukushima, presenting a threat to the ecosystem and human health due to their strong radioactivity and toxicity. The assessment of its mass amount and isotope ratios plays a significant role in some research fields such as reactor accident analysis, nuclear forensic and safeguard investigations, and environmental monitoring . However, in these cases, it appears as a challenge to accurately and rapidly measure the isotopic abundances of Pu at the trace level, and the strong radioactivity and toxicity of Pu as well as other actinides strengthened the demand for the analytical technique with high sensitivity and precision.…”
