Radio-Wave Communication With Chaos

Abstract: Chaotic signals require very wide bandwidth to be transmitted in a practical channel, which is difficult for the practical transducer or antenna to convert such a broadband signal. To address this problem, in this work, Chaotic Shape-forming Filter (CSF) is used to obtain the baseband signal, and the corresponding matched filter is used at the receiver to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio. At the same time, the symbol judgment threshold determined by the chaos properties is used to reduce the Inter-Symbol Int… Show more

“…Some recent manuscripts have addressed this topic. For example, in [8], a key issue in radio wave communication systems has been discussed, i.e., how to exploit chaos with minimum modifications of conventional systems. In particular, the author of reference [8] have proposed the adoption of chaotic shape-forming filters as substitutes for conventional shape-forming filters.…”

By using a suboptimal threshold, Bit Error Rate (BER) in both multipath channel and system performance has been improved.…”

“…In response to the growing demand of access terminals, the research demand of the communication systems with higher BTR and higher spectral efficiency are rapid increasing for the next generation local wireless communication network. [23], which is not achievable by traditional chaotic signal generated by Logistic or Tent map even continuous chaotic signal generated by, for example, Lorenz system, but also it has ability to resist inter-symbol interference [24,25], by this way, it improves the performance of communications systems in complex radio channels [26,27]. Moreover, the CSF can be implemented by using simple electronic circuit [28] or digital signal processor [29], which addressed the demands of low consumption, low complexity and low power consumption in IoT communication.…”
