Radio Sources Associated with Optical Galaxies and Having Unresolved or Extended Morphologies (ROGUE). I. A Catalog of SDSS Galaxies with FIRST Core Identifications

Abstract: We present the catalog of Radio sources associated with Optical Galaxies and having Unresolved or Extended morphologies I (ROGUE I), consisting of 32,616 spectroscopically selected galaxies. It is the largest handmade catalog of this kind, obtained by cross-matching galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 and radio sources from both the First Images of Radio Sky at Twenty Centimetre (FIRST) survey and the NRAO VLA Sky Survey without imposing a limit to the radio flux densities. The cat… Show more

“…A winged back-flow is observed to emanate from the northern hotspot, but no such feature is seen near the southern hotspot. However, this source has been classified as an X-shaped radio galaxy by Kozieł-Wierzbowska et al (2020). SAGANJ225321.28+162016.77.…”

“…All-sky Aitoff projection of the distribution of our newly discovered GRS in red, together with the GRS from six major published GRS lists, which are in black from [5], in orange from [15], in dark blue from [59], in dark green from [60], in dark magenta from [16], and in dark red from [46]. The thick blue line shows the area within |b| ≤ 2 • from the Galactic plane.…”

“…Recently, the first part of a catalogue of Radio sources associated with Optical Galaxies and having Unresolved or Extended morphologies (ROGUE I) has been published by Kozie l-Wierzbowska et al (2020). It contains 32,616 spectroscopically selected galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS; York et al 2000) that have core identifications in the First Images of Radio Sky at Twenty Centimetre survey (FIRST: Becker et al 1995, http://sundog.stsci.edu).…”
