Radiative transitions and magnetic moments of the charmed and bottom vector mesons in chiral perturbation theory

Abstract: In this work, we systematically study the radiative decays and magnetic moments of the charmed and bottom vector mesons with chiral perturbation theory up to one-loop level. We present the results in the SU(2) and SU(3) cases with the mass splitting in loop diagrams kept and unkept, respectively. The obtained decay rates for D Ã and B Ã mesons in the SU(3) case with the mass splitting kept are ΓDÃ0 →D 0 γ ¼ 16.2 þ6.5 −6.0 keV, Γ D Ã− →D − γ ¼ 0.73 þ0.7 −0.3 keV, Γ D Ã− s →D − s γ ¼ 0.32 þ0.3 −0.3 keV, and Γ B … Show more

“…In other words, the heavy quark symmetry breaking effect at the loop level is very significant for the charm sectors. This effect has been noticed by some previous works [13,52]. Additionally, we give the contributions of each O(p 3 ) loop diagram in Table II.…”

“…(2.8) and (2.12), i.e., the mass splitting δ is treated as another small scale in the Lagrangians. This expansion works well for the systems with one heavy matter field [43]. The loop integrals in these systems are the polynomials of δ, thus the convergence of the chiral expansion is not affected as long as the δ ∼ m π or smaller than m π .…”

“…In particular, the mass difference δ betweenD * andD is larger than the pion mass m π . The heavy quark spin symmetry breaking effect has been noticed for the charmed sectors in some works [11,43]. Besides, one shall not neglect the role of Λ c , since the Λ c π couples strongly with the Σ ( * ) c .…”

“…Γ D * is the width of D * meson, for D * + , we use the experimental value 83.4 keV, while for D * 0 , we adopt the central value 77.7 keV that calculated in Ref. [44]. f π = 92.4 MeV is the pion decay constant and p 2 stands for the momentum of pion.…”
