Radiation testing of optical fibers for the Space Station

Abstract: Testing began in 1989 to qualify fibers for the natural space environment for high speed, data transmission interconnects on the Space Station. Fibers identified for Space Station systems must qualify over temperature extremes and natural space radiation effects.
