“…GNPs at a concentration of 2 wt% have emerged as a promising nanofiller for PMMA based nanocomposites due to their remarkable mechanical properties, and optimal production parameters have been established by the application of NDT. It is noted that the physical performance relates to the structural characteristics of PMMA and its performance can be changed with the formation of PMMA/Colemanite composite 11,43–53 . Investigations of the matrix base PMMA used in this research have been carried out in space research at the International Space Station 11,50,51 .…”

“…The specific effects of graphene‐PMMA polymerization conditions have been monitored by gamma transmission method. Because the use of copper atoms at in‐situ polymerization method have improved the gamma‐ray absorption in the final polymer nanocomposite 38 . The copper content supported the gamma absorption has not been varied in the current samples to obtain the same dispersion condition in the final polymer nanocomposite.…”

“…Four different colemanite Ca 2 B 6 O 11 ·5H 2 O (CMT) concentration levels (such as 5, 15, 30, and 40 weight percent) were examined to investigate the radiation protective shielding properties of poly(methyl methacrylate)/colemanite (PMMA/CMT) composite. Colemanite reinforcement of poly(methyl methacrylate) increased the radiation shielding capacity by 11.1% for gamma photons of Cs-137 radioisotope (Bel et al 2018 ). By blending epoxy resin with different weight percent of tungsten powder, tungsten/epoxy composites were prepared and investigated by using two different activities of Co-60 source showing that with the increment of tungsten loading, the shielding property of composites increased (Chang et al 2015 ).…”
