Abstract:Attempts to prepare block or graft copolymers of isobutylene rubbers by radiation in the presence of methyl methacrylate gave low yields of copolymer with only 20 per cent of the rubber entering into the copolymer. The remainder of the rubber is degraded during the process. A single experiment describes the graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate with ethylene propylene rubber in which 45 per cent of the rubber is copolymerized.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
