Abstract: Radiation enteropathy (RE) is common in patients treated with radiotherapy for pelvic–abdominal cancers. Accumulating data indicate that gut commensal bacteria determine intestinal radiosensitivity. Radiotherapy can result in gut bacterial dysbiosis.
