RACCOON: A Connection Reasoner for the Description Logic ALC

Abstract: In this paper, we introduce RACCOON, a reasoner based on the connection calculus ALC -CM for the description logic ALC. We describe the calculus, and present details of RACCOON's implementation. Currently, RACCOON carries out only consistency checks, and can be run online; its code is also publicly available. Besides, results of a comparison among RACCOON and other reasoners on the ORE 2014 and 2015 competition problems with ALC expressivity are shown and discussed.

“…The reasoner is responsible for performing logical inferences in OWL code. The reasoning services in DL are provided by reasoners, such as HermiT [65], FaCT ++ , [66], Pellet [67], RacerPro [68], CEL [69], and RACCOOM [70]. In this research, the Pellet was used, an OWL compatible reasoner for inconsistency checking.…”
