Abstract:In recent years, drug discovery studies show that more than 40% of new drugs synthesized are having poor aqueous solubility rendering them poorly bioavailable after oral administration. Self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS) are the novel lipid-based formulations having the potential to enhance the oral bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs which belong to class II and IV of the biopharmaceutical classification system. SEDDS is the isotropic mixtures of oil, surfactant, cosurfactant, and someti… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
