Abstract:Subjective tonsil size measurements correlate well with objective tonsil volume measurements. However, only objective tonsil measurements were significantly predictive of objective PSG-measured OSAHS severity. SIGNIFICANCE: Postoperative pediatric sleep studies have recently uncovered a significant post-tonsillectomy failure rate. This study identifies objective parameters that may serve as a surrogate for preoperative PSG values.
