The 5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline derivative 13 (Scheme ) was obtained by selective hydrogenation of the quinoline 12c in the presence of a nickel catalyst 21 to produce the corresponding 5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline 12r , which was then chlorinated.…”
