Questioning the diagnosis of bipolar disorder: a case report

Abstract: Temporal lobe epilepsy may lead to misdiagnosis due to affective, psychotic and/or personality abnormalities. Here, Dr Côrte‐Real et al. investigate such a case of an epileptic patient, initially diagnosed with bipolar disorder whose diagnosis was later changed to focal epilepsy and major neurocognitive disorder highlighting the importance of differential diagnosis in atypical cases.
