While object-oriented databases (OODBs) are known to be rich in functionality, HBase database, which is a distributed and scalable big data store, as well as uncertain databases have recently gained a lot of attention in the database community. This paper presents a methodology for handling an important step of knowledge integrations and migrations. In particular, a formal approach for reengineering fuzzy object-oriented databases in HBase is firstly developed. The reengineering approach is based on the technique of rule-based schema mapping, which defines a set of transformation rules involved in the process of schema transformations for mapping a fuzzy object-oriented database schema into a fuzzy HBase database schema. In addition, a formal approach to map the fuzzy object-oriented algebra into fuzzy HBase algebra is proposed. On this basis, we complement the work with a comprehensive set of experiments to show the efficiency of our proposed approach in terms of query time and scalability metrics. The in vitro-in vivo correlation (IVIVC) (Food and Drug Administration 1997) aims to predict performances in vivo of a pharmaceutical formulation based on its in vitro characteristics. It is a complex process that (i) incorporates in a gradual and incremental way a large amount of information and (ii) requires information from different properties (formulation, analytical, clinical) and associated dedicated treatments (statistics, modeling, simulation). These results in many studies that are initiated and integrated into the specifications (quality target product profile, QTPP). This latter defines the appropriate experimental designs (quality by design, QbD) (Food and Drug Administration 2011, 2012) whose main objectives are determination (i) of key factors of development and manufacturing (critical process parameters, CPPs) and (ii) of critical points of physicochemical nature relating to active ingredients (API) and critical quality attribute (CQA) which may have implications in terms of efficiency, safety, and inoffensiveness for the patient, due to their non-inclusion. These processes generate a very large amount of data that is necessary to structure. In this context, the storage of information in a database (DB) and the management of this database (database management system, DBMS) become an important issue for the management of projects and IVIVC and more generally for development of new pharmaceutical forms. This article describes the implementation of a prototype object-oriented database (OODB) considered as a tool, which is helpful for decision taking, responding in a structured and consistent way to the issues of project management of IVIVC (including bioequivalence and bioavailability) (Food and Drug Administration 2003) necessary for the implementation of QTPP.

Multidimensional data analysis or On-line analytical processing (OLAP) offers a single subject-oriented source for analyzing summary data based on various dimensions. We demonstrate that the OLAP approach gives a promising starting point for advanced analysis and comparison among summary data in informetrics applications. At the moment there is no single precise, commonly accepted logical/conceptual model for multidimensional analysis. This is because the requirements of applications vary considerably. We develop a conceptual/logical multidimensional model for supporting the complex and unpredictable needs of informetrics. Summary data are considered with respect of some dimensions. By changing dimensions the user may construct other views on the same summary data. We develop a multidimensional query language whose basic idea is to support the definition of views in a way, which is natural and intuitive for lay users in the informetrics area. We show that this view-oriented query language has a great expressive power and its degree of declarativity is greater than in contemporary operation-oriented or SQL (Structured Query Language)-like OLAP query languages.
