Quenching of Self-Excited Vibrations in Multi Degree-of-Freedom Systems: Application to Stick-Slip Mitigation in Drilling

Abstract: Surface-based damping mechanisms are the most commonly used method to mitigate stick-slip vibration in drilling systems, and their parameters are typically chosen based on low-order models of the drilling system.
