Quench Simulation of the Hybrid Magnet Superconducting Outsert Being Built in China

Abstract: Quench simulation of the hybrid magnet superconducting outsert being built at the High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences was performed. The hybrid magnet is composed of a superconducting outsert magnet and a resistive insert magnet. The superconducting outsert will produce a central magnetic field of 11.0 T at 13,410 A.
