“…The Hf isotope data presented here are the first for Central Anatolian lavas, and the Pb and Nd isotope results significantly expand the number of existing data (Figure ; supporting information Table S2) [ Deniel et al ., ; Şen et al ., ; Aydin et al ., ]. Hafnium and Nd isotope compositions in Hasan Monogenetic Cluster basalts are generally more radiogenic than bulk‐earth values (mostly positive ε Hf and ε Nd values), correlate positively, and define a trend that diverges from the mantle array toward the isotopic compositions of many Tethyan sediments from the eastern Mediterranean (Figure a inset) [ Klaver et al ., ].…”

“…The Cyprean and Arabian slabs are, however, too deep (>200 km), or missing altogether, for normal orogenic magmagenesis [ Pearce et al ., ; Notsu et al ., ; Biryol et al ., ]. Contributions from an intraplate source have also been identified, mainly on the basis of rare alkaline basalts [ Güçtekin and Köprübaşi , ; Aydin , ], secular changes in geochemistry [ Deniel et al ., ; Aydin et al ., ], or chemical heterogeneity exhibited by basalts [ Şen et al ., ; Kuscu and Geneli , ]. Volcanic rocks may therefore be derived from mantle that was subduction‐modified prior to Africa‐Arabia‐Eurasia collision, either by (1) direct melting of thermally remobilized mantle lithosphere under the influence of lithospheric extension and/or upwelling mantle or by (2) interaction between more deeply derived melts and either crustal or (metasomatized) mantle domains in the lithosphere.…”

“…New dates from basaltic lavas that form a basement to the Meso-Hasandağ sequences lead to reconsider this chronology. In the area where the NW part of the Keçiboyduran volcano meets the NE part of the KHD, a basaltic basement has been Ar/Ar dated near Kitreli village to 654 ± 24 ka (south of Mahmutlu cone: Aydın et al 2014), and 543 ± 12 ka under the Kitreli cones (K/Ar age: Doğan-Kulahcı et al 2018). Both basements pertain to the Keçiboyduran volcano that rises close to the Hasandağ in this area (Figs.…”

“…Using these new dates (e.g. Aydın et al 2014;Schmitt et al 2014;Doğan-Kulahcı et al 2018; this study) and together with stratigraphic reconstructions and content of some pyroclastitic deposits, we intend here to re-evaluate the geomorphological evolution of the Hasandağ (Emre 1991). Aydar (1992) and Aydar and Gourgaud (1998) published a geological reconstruction of the edification phases of the Hasandağ based on very detailed examination of units Fig.…”
