Quasi‐resonance and confining phenomena in symmetrical rectangular quadruple‐barrier structures

Abstract: Resonant tunneling is studied theoretically in detail in symmetrical rectangular quadruple-barrier structures by taking into account the mass difference between the well layer and the barrier layer. The variation of the resonance energy with the outer barrier width is investigated. It is found that the resonance level is rarely affected by a small change of the outer barrier width.
