Abstract:We present diffusion Monte Carlo (DMC) and path-integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) calculations of a one-dimensional Bose system with realistic interparticle interactions in a periodic external potential. Our main aim is to test the predictions of the Luttinger liquid (LL) theory, in particular with respect to the superfluid-Mott insulator transition at both zero and finite temperatures, in the predicted robust and fragile superfluid regimes. For that purpose, we present our results of the superfluid fraction ρs/ρ0, … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
