Quantum Electrodynamics Coherence and Hormesis: Foundations of Quantum Biology

Pierre Madl,
Paolo Renati

Abstract: Background: “Quantum biology” (QB) is a promising theoretical approach addressing questions about how living systems are able to unfold dynamics that cannot be solved on a chemical basis or seem to violate some fundamental laws (e.g., thermodynamic yield, morphogenesis, adaptation, autopoiesis, memory, teleology, biosemiotics). Current “quantum” approaches in biology are still very basic and “corpuscular”, as these rely on a semi-classical and approximated view. We review important considerations of theory and… Show more

“…From a biological point of view, what appears to be an increase in adaptive processes (or “hormesis”) has been frequently observed in living systems treated with homeopathic dilutions under a range of different circumstances. 29 30 31 Furthermore, such biological effects have shown close correspondence with physicochemical changes in previous microcrustacean studies. 22 These physicochemical changes in water can be monitored through interactions with solvatochromic dyes 24 32 based on the method developed by Cartwright.…”

“…From the present results, the quantum characteristics of fractal coherent liquid water, as resonating with and captured from the fractally inductive nature of the macroscopic fractal carafe, relate to the quantum electrodynamic (QED) theory (Del Giudice et al, 1985;Madl and Renati, 2023) and particularly the uncertainty relationship (Preparata, 1995). Accordingly, the coherent state was evoked by the interaction between the high-entropy photons of incident ordinary daylight with impact on the high/low-density ratio of liquid carafe water.…”

“…These electrons circulating at the periphery of a CD, are subject to a repulsive ponderomotive force (see Equation (10)) and are coherent; therefore, they cannot dissipate energy neither by thermal relaxation, nor by friction (giving rise to closed supercurrents, the so-called cold vortices). The implications of this aspect are huge, but beyond the scope of this work, for which we refer to [55][56][57][58][59].…”

“…rise to closed supercurrents, the so-called cold vortices). The implications of this aspect are huge, but beyond the scope of this work, for which we refer to [55][56][57][58][59]. On the left, an artist's sketch to give an idea of the biphasic picture of liquid water: at room conditions the coherent fraction, Fcoh(T), comprises about 40% of the total molecules and its density (0.92 g/cm 3 ) is independent of temperature, while the density of the incoherent interstitial fraction depends on T. This requires, as shown in the right panel, modelling water density as a function of T, ρ(T).…”
