Quantum coherence in the dynamical Casimir effect

Abstract: We propose to use quantum coherence as ultimate proof of quantum nature in the radiation that appears by means of the Dynamical Casimir Effect in experiments with superconducting microwave waveguides. We show that, unlike previously considered measurements such as entanglement and discord, quantum coherence does not require a threshold value of the external pump amplitude and is highly robust to thermal noise. *

“…This arrangement can be considered as a one-dimensional system with periodically varying distributed parameters. The results of that experiments stimulated many theoretical papers, suggesting further improvements of the experimental schemes [324][325][326][327][328][329][330][331][332][333][334][335][336][337]. The circuit QED with "artificial atoms" (qubits) was the subject of studies [338][339][340][341][342][343][344][345][346][347][348][349][350].…”

“…On the one hand, moving boundary conditions can turn vacuum fluctuations into real particles via the dynamical Casimir effect, which has recently been experimentally observed [10]. These particles are produced in quantum-correlated pairs [11][12][13][14][15]. On the other hand, entanglement can in principle be swapped to qubits [16][17][18][19] after an interaction with the field.…”
