“…For adults who underwent brain imaging (and were not diagnosed at autopsy), we calculated hematoma volume using the first CT brain scan after the adult's presentation with ICH using Quantomo computerized planimetry software (Cybertrial Inc, Calgary, Canada), which has been shown to have greater reliability for quantifying ICH volume in comparison with the ABC/2 method. 64,65 We assessed the performance of the ICH score 8 at distinguishing between those who survive and those who do not 1 year after an ICH by calculating the area under a receiver operator characteristic curve using the values of the ICH score obtained for each participant.…”

“…Automation enabled our analyses to be performed in Ͻ5 seconds per patient, excluding region-ofinterest generation, but this function can also be fully automated. 35 Leave-one-out cross-validation was used to test the predictive models, serially excluding each patient in the dataset from analysis, thereby establishing a validation dataset and avoiding overestimation of model significance. Furthermore, this technique examines the full range of attenuation information available from each patient's entire ICH, improving the limited "largest section" qualitative approach.…”

“…If magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging was not available, a noncontrast computed tomographic scan (NCCT) was chosen for measurement. An expert (Dr Al-Ajlan) used Quantomo (Cybertrial Inc, Calgary) 6 to delineate infarct and measure post-treatment infarct volumes (in milliliters) while being blinded to all other clinical and imaging information. Manual adjustments to delineate infarct boundaries were performed where necessary.…”
