Quantitative trait loci for stem strength properties and lodging in two pea biparental mapping populations

Abstract: Lodging is the major factor that determines whether pea (Pisum sativum L.) can be mechanically harvested. In a study of a pea bi-parental mapping population, Gawłowska et al [ 51 ] reported several QTLs associated with stem mechanical properties including stem diameter and wall thickness, traits strongly relate to lodging resistance.
