Comparative Morphological Studies of the Allergic Reactions of Young and Old Animals

“…To compare the amounts of antibody produced, the precipitates in the pulmonary vessels of rabbits aged 6 months and 4 years, resp., were subjected to microphotometric measurement. Measurement of the intensity of fluorescence has yielded the following results: The photometric results indicate that there is significantly more rabbit globulin in the pulmonary vascular lumina in young animals than in the old ones [Beregi and Perenyi, 1968], 2. The investigations concerning early allergic vascular changes have shown that as early as 1 min after the administration of antigen the mesenteric vessels exhibit changes in the sensitized rabbits and rats of different ages.…”
