Abstract:A comprehensive two-dimensional echocardiographic examination provides useful information that is superior to M-mode regarding left ventricular chamber sizes and systolic performance, including ejection fraction. Although we rely on visual estimates, quantitative measurements can be particularly valuable in patients with mild or moderate left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
