Quantitative Analysis and Validation of Hirsutenone and Muricarpone B from Fermented Alnus sibirica

Abstract: − Alnus sibirica (AS) geographically distributes in Korea, Japan, Northeast China and Russia. The bark of this plant had been used for antipyretic, expectorant, anti-phlogistic, antitussive, anti-asthmatic and as a health tea for alcoholism. Recently, we studied various biological activities of AS and the isolated diarylheptanoid. In present study, we conducted fermentation of AS (FAS) and isolated two diarylheptanoid (hirsutenone and muricarpone B). Moreover, we established the validation and contents determi… Show more

“…Compounds 3 , 6 , and 13 showed a strong anti-oxidative activity, followed by 1 , 2 and 10, which is similar to the results in Reference [ 27 ]. Moreover, 4 and 5 also showed potent anti-oxidative activity, especially 5 , which was newly produced, and fermentation led to the obviously increased content of 13 [ 31 ], and this it had the most potent anti-oxidative activity ability. This may be the key of the reason that FAS showed stronger anti-oxidative activity.…”

“…From our previous study, 17 compounds from fermented AS (FAS) were isolated and evaluated for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-atopic dermatitis activities, in vitro and in vivo, including the quantitative analysis of its components [23,24,25]. The present paper describes the evaluation of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on the enzymatic hydrolysis (EAS).…”
