Quantitation of magnetic resonance spectroscopy signals: the jMRUI software package

Abstract: The software package jMRUI with Java-based graphical user interface enables user-friendly time-domain analysis of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) and HRMAS-NMR signals. Version 3.x has been distributed in more than 1200 groups or hospitals worldwide. The new version 4.x is a plug-in platform enabling the users to add their own algorithms. Moreover, it offers new functionalities compared to versions 3.x. The quantum-mechanical simulator based on NMR-SCOPE, the quantitation… Show more

“…Spectral data were post-processed by magnetic resonance user interface software (jMRUI, version 4.0; www.jmrui.eu [25,26]) by an assessor (NAJ) who was blinded to participant details and time point. Liver and pancreas water signal amplitudes were quantified using Hankel-Lanczos squares singular values decomposition [27][28][29], and a five resonance model was employed to fit the lipid peaks [24,27,30].…”

“…We obtained 1 H magnetic resonance spectra using point-resolved spectroscopy with the following parameters: repetition time 1,500 ms, echo time 135 ms without water suppression and with 128 signal averages, and a 15 3 15 3 15 mm voxel size. Spectra were analyzed using the advanced method for accurate, robust, and efficient spectral fitting (AMARES) algorithm in the MRUI software package, version 5 (17). Peak areas for water and lipid resonances were obtained, and T1 and T2 corrections were performed (18).…”

“…SV data was processed using jMRUI [34] in version 5.0. Individually stored acquisitions were averaged and the residual water signal was removed by Henkel Lankos Singular Value Decomposition (HLSVD) before modeling with QUEST [35].…”
