Abstract:Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling plays a pivotal role in optimizing fixed bed catalytic chemical reactors to enhance performance but must accurately capture the various length-and time-scales that underpin the complex particle−fluid interactions. Within catalytic particles, a range of pore sizes exist, with micro-pore scales enhancing the active surface area for increased reactivity and macro-pore scales enhancing intraparticle heat and mass transfer through intraparticle convection. Existing partic… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
