Quality of v-Process Moulds Through the Taguchi Technique

Abstract: The global consciousness for quality has motivated designers and manufacturing engineers to be engaged constantly in product and process development. The approach, quality by design, developed by Taguchi has produced a unique and powerful quality improvement discipline that differs from traditional practices. In the present paper, Taguchi's technique has been applied to obtain an optimal setting of V‐process parameters. The results indicate that the sand grain fineness number and amplitude of vibration are the… Show more

“…The significant process parameters and their optimum levels have already been selected as A 2, B 3, C 1 and D 1 . The estimated mean of the response characteristic (compressive strength) can be computed as [42] : Table 7. Optimum levels of process parameters for the compressive strength.…”

“…It is widely used to examine the interactions among process parameters. Many researchers have used this method to optimize factors in food processing (Barua et al, 1997;Mecit et al, 2007;Chao-Chin Chung et al, 2008;Ho-Hsien Chen et al, 2011;Chandrasekar et al, 2015;Sanusi et al, 2020). However, literature is sparse on development of a prototype of an electric rotary oven which can be used in developing countries.…”
