Objective This study was conducted to assess the relationship between the symptoms experienced by women with COPD and the quality of their sexual life. Method This study was designed as a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study was conducted at a hospital’s chest diseases clinic located in the western of Turkey. The sample comprises 62 female patients hospitalized with diagnosis of COPD. A questionnaire form, the Medical Research Council Scale (MRCS), the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) and the Sexual Quality of Life-Female (SQOL-F) applied to the women with COPD. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Kruskal Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U Test, correlation and regression analysis, were used for the data analysis process. Findings The decrease in the education level of the participants who have any accompanying chronic disease, and experience symptoms during sexual intercourse negatively affects their quality of sexual life. The quality of sexual life decreases as age, duration of marriage and duration of illness increase (p < 0.05). The results of the linear regression analysis carried out to predict the quality of sexual life of women with COPD shown that the increase in mMRC and CAT significantly decreased the quality of sexual life. These variables explain 58% of the variance. Conclusions The result of the study shown the sexual quality of life of women with COPD was impaired and COPD symptoms affect them.

Objective: to map the content and features of mobile applications on the management of Diabetes Mellitus and their usability on the main operating systems. Method: benchmarking research. The mapping of apps, content, and resources on the Play Store and App Store platforms was based on an adaptation of the Joanna Briggs Institute’s scoping review framework. For the usability analysis, the apps were tested for two weeks and the System Usability Scale instrument was used, with scores between 50-67 points being considered borderline, between 68-84, products with acceptable usability and above 85, excellent user acceptance and, for the analysis, descriptive statistics. Results: the most prevalent contents were capillary blood glucose management, diet, oral drug therapy, and insulin therapy. As for resources, diaries and graphs were the most common. With regard to usability, two apps were considered to have excellent usability; 34, products with acceptable usability; 29, the resource may have some flaws but still has acceptable usability standards and 6, with flaws and no usability conditions. Conclusion: the content and resources of mobile applications address the fundamental points for managing Diabetes Mellitus with user-friendly resources, with usability acceptable to users and have the potential to assist in the management of Diabetes Mellitus in patients’ daily lives.

AimsTo systematically identify and summarize the needs of chronically ill people concerning their sexual well‐being in peer‐reviewed published literature, to enable healthcare professionals to provide support in self‐management satisfying the needs.DesignA scoping review was performed according to the framework of (JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis. JBI Global Wiki, 2020). Findings are reported in line with the PRISMA extension for scoping reviews.Review MethodsA literature search and thematic analysis were conducted.Data SourcesFull research was carried out in 2022 in the search engine BASE and the following databases: Scopus, MEDLINE, Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index and CINAHL. Peer‐reviewed articles published after 2011 were included.ResultsFifty articles could be found. Seven categories of needs could be identified. People with chronic diseases want their providers to initiate discussions about sexual concerns and treat them trustfully and respectfully. Most of the patients would like the issue of sexuality to be included in routine care. They perceive their medical specialists and psychologists as preferred providers to talk to about this issue. Nurses are seen as primary contact persons but in a smaller number of studies.ConclusionAlthough the scoping review included different types of chronic diseases, the needs of chronically ill patients concerning their sexual well‐being are not very different. Healthcare professionals, especially nurses, who are often the first point of contact for people with chronic illnesses, should take the initiative for open discussions about sexual issues. That requires a new understanding of the role of nurses, training and further education.Implications for the Profession and/or Patient CareProviding patient education and facilitating an open discussion about sexuality require further training in the new understanding of the role of the nurse and the concept of sexual well‐being.ImpactWhat problem did the study address?
