Aims. Floods badly impact the food and nutrition security in developing countries. The role of the government and the impact of floods on the underweight status of children in the affected areas is not clear. We aimed to find the determinants of underweight in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Methods. We used a multistage sampling technique and selected 656 households during in the flood-affected areas of Pakistan. Data were collected in the three most affected districts. A validated questionnaire was used to find socioeconomic and demographic information, hygiene, and sanitation information. We used logistic regression to find the determinants of underweight, controlling for confounders. Results. The prevalence of global malnutrition based on underweight was 25.2%. The prevalence of underweight was higher in young age mothers (40.6%), younger age children (71.4%), large family size (28.4%), joint family (27%), and no toilet facility (28.9%). District Nowshera was at high risk of underweight based undernutrition, followed by district Charsadda compared to children belonging to Dera Ismail Khan. The significant risk factor that causes underweight was child lower age ( p < 0.01 ), young age of mothers ( p < 0.01 ), children access to unimproved water sources ( p < 0.01 ), and location (districts) due to environmental and constant flood consequences ( p < 0.01 ). Conclusion. In conclusion, risk factors of underweight should be appropriately targeted in the flood-hit areas of Pakistan. Governments should preallocate budgetary resources and enhance the emergency preparedness levels to facilitate the communities with flooding incidents and their aftermath in the shape of child underweight-based malnutrition.

Background: Despite several programs and policies to turn down the burden of malnutrition in the country, the rank of India in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) is 102 among 117 countries, which indicates a serious hunger situation. It is essential to design more specific interventions by focusing on the key determinants that may directly or indirectly influence malnutrition in India.Methods: Utilizing data from the National Family and Health Survey-4 (NFHS) (2015-16), we developed a structural equation model to find the direct, indirect, and total effect of various determinants on stunting, wasting, and underweight. We used spatial analysis to identify local occurrences of factors that are critical in controlling malnutrition. A p-value of 0.05 was considered to be significant throughout the study. Analysis was performed using STATA (version 15.1MP) and GeoDa software (version 1.14).Results: A final sample of 90, 842 children of 0–24 months of age was selected for the analysis. The CFI and TLI values of 0.98 and 0.93, respectively, are indicative of a good fit model. Moran's I value of global spatial autocorrelation for the widespread presence of diarrhea, poor drinking water source, exclusive breastfeeding, low birth weight, no prenatal visits, poor toilet facility was observed to be 0.446, 0.638, 0.345, 0.439, 0.620, and 0.727, respectively.Conclusion: A robust direct relation was observed for diarrhea, exclusive breastfeeding, and children born with stunting, underweight, and wasting. The variables associated indirectly with the outcome variables were the education of the mother, residence, and desired pregnancy. The identification of hotspots through spatial analysis would help revive control strategies in the affected area according to geographical needs. It is extensively addressed that interventions related to health and nutrition during the first 1, 000 days of life is crucial to seize the upshoot of growth floundering among children.

Pengangkutan pasien yang tepat waktu dan aman dari tempat gawat darurat ke fasilitas perawatan kesehatan yang sesuai untuk perawatan lebih lanjut adalah proses yang kompleks (Tiwary, Nilima, Majumdar, Singh, & Khan, 2020 Berdasarkan tabel 5 menunjukkan waktu tempuh antara lokasi berangkat dengan instalasi gawat darurat RSUD Ratu Zaleha didapatkan hasil 17 informan (56,57%) ≥165 menit. Waktu emas (golden window) dalam penanganan stroke adalah ± 3 jam, artinya dalam 3 jam awal setelah mendapatkan serangan stroke, pasien harus segera mendapatkan terapi secara komprehensif dan optimal dari tim gawat darurat rumah sakit untuk mendapatkan hasil pengobatan yang optimal (Bahnasy et al, 2019).…”

The prevalence of stroke in Indonesia increased from 7.0/mile to 10.9/mile. The facilities and infrastructure become a national problem especially in the health sector. The initial 3 hours of a stroke is the time span for treatment and help to obtain optimal results. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the transportation of stroke patients to the emergency department at Ratu Zaleha Martapura Hospital. Method: This research was analytic descriptive with cross sectional approach and consecutive sampling technique was used to get 30 samples. The study was conducted from October to November 2019 using a questionnaire. Data analysis included frequency and percentage tables. Results: The results showed that 46.47% of respondents used non-ambulances, 73.34% of the reasons were free, 53.33% of medical devices in their modes of transportation were not available, 56.67% of respondents stated that the travel time to the hospital was ≥165 minutes, 50% during the transportation process was not accompanied by a health worker, and for the distribution of locations was the most in the District of Martapura as much as 26,67%. Conclusion: Many stroke patients who were taken did not use ambulances, many were used for free reasons, the majority of medical devices in the mode of transportation were not available, most patients took more than 3 hours and when referred were partly not accompanied by a health worker and the majority of patients were from Martapura District.
