“…In quality of life physical domain, perceived physical health level was emphasized rather than measured physical health level. In the literature, there are studies in accordance with our study results showing that the quality of life of the pregnant women who have first pregnancy is better 15 , the quality of life of women with high parity may be lower in the physical domain 16 and that the quality of life of pregnant women with chronic disease may be worse in both short and long terms 17 . In the study of Calou et al 18 gestational age and maternal age constituted 51% of the negative changes in the quality of life of pregnant women.…”

“…In recent years, the role of metacognition was investigated in patients with chronic conditions and their caregivers. Anxiety and depression symptoms are common in a wide range of chronic medical conditions, influencing the patients' quality of life (Marchetti et al, 2017;Catalano et al, 2018;Marchini et al, 2018;Martino et al, 2018Martino et al, , 2019cQuattropani et al, 2018a,b;Fantinelli et al, 2019;Lenzo et al, 2019). Dysfunctional metacognitive beliefs could be a relevant factor involved in the development of negative emotions, influencing the adherence to medical treatments.…”

“…13 A recent review suggested that decreased QoL may be possible to improve through diabetes-related self-management interventions (diet, exercise, self-monitoring, insulin control). 14 The knowledge of the effects of general lifestyle interventions on HRQoL during normal pregnancy is scarce. Some studies have suggested that general physical activity of healthy pregnant women has positive effects on perinatal HRQoL, 15,16 whereas others have not found an effect.…”

“…The RADIEL-intervention initiated during early pregnancy succeeded in reducing GDM incidence by 36% among women with normal glucose tolerance at baseline. 14 The aim of this study is (i) to evaluate the effect of lifestyle counselling on HRQoL during and after pregnancy within the study population recruited in early pregnancy (including also women with early GDM) and (ii) to provide HRQoL data that can be used as a basis for the cost-utility analysis of the RADIELstudy in the future.…”
