“…Furthermore, the present study included a relatively large study population compared with similar previous studies in children, especially in our analyses of intervention outcome. Importantly, the children and adolescents with overweight and obesity underwent treatment using The Children’s Obesity Clinic protocol, which has, in several nonrandomized studies, shown improvement in metabolic risk variables and psychosocial well‐being, including degree of obesity in both patients and their parents , blood pressure , plasma lipid fractions , body composition , liver and muscle fat content , and quality of life .…”

“…We found only 11 relevant studies for our review, although several other studies measured utility values, but were not included in our analyses because they did not report scored utility values (64)(65)(66)(67) or ascribe them to weight categories (68). Reviews of nonpreference-based studies assessing HRQoL in childhood populations suggest poorer HRQoL in obese youth (23,(69)(70)(71), with recent studies finding that interventions that reduce BMI are associated with improvements in HRQoL (72,73). Our meta-analysis results broadly support these findings; however, given this is a relatively emerging field within the literature, it is clear that more research is required to better understand potential quantitative associations useful for economic modelling.…”
