“…However, it seems quite obvious that UDT in many CP infants (facing so many acute and long-term problems) does not reach high treatment priority, offers an unfavorable cost-benefit ratio for parents and caregivers, or is just forgotten to be looked after [Bitsko et al, 2009]. Orthopedic multilevel surgery offers many advantages [Stephan-Carlier et al, 2014] concerning quality of life and satisfaction with surgical outcomes. Therefore, it is highly recommended that orchidopexy is combined with other procedures (orthopedic, etc.)…”

“…4,24,25 In the CPM, child-parent agreement was good in both scales, and in contrast to a recently published study on HRQOL of children with CP after multilevel surgery, it was better in the Impact than in the Communication scale. 26 In general, the parents assessed their child's HRQOL lower than the children and adolescents themselves. Furthermore, it is known that parents of a child with a chronic condition tend to underestimate the child's self-reported HRQOL from studies in children and adolescents with CP as well as chronic conditions in general.…”

“…Various surgical treatment methods have been used to prevent or correct developmental problems related to CP (7,8). Single-event multilevel surgery, which is the most common surgical method today, corrects deformities of the musculoskeletal system in a single surgical session by using multiple procedures (3,7).…”

“…Existing studies on the experiences of children with CP and their families focus on postoperative pain, rehabilitation problems, quality of life, walking, and physiological problems (7,14). However, only one study is concerned with the expectations of parents from the surgical operation and their children's quality of life (8). Besides, only one study deals with the postoperative experiences of the parents, whose children underwent surgical operation due to CP.…”
