Quality of Life and Its Association with Physical Activity among Different Types of Cancer Survivors

Abstract: PurposeThe main goal of this study was to compare the quality of life (QOL) and its association with physical activity (PA) among patients diagnosed with different types of cancer. Based on the results, we tentatively present suggestions for the cancer health care model.MethodA cross-sectional study was conducted with 2915 cancer survivors recruited from multi-community cancer rehabilitation centers, all of which were affiliated with the Shanghai Cancer Rehabilitation Club. We collected data including socio-de… Show more

“…CD 105 was identified as a biomarker for renal CSCs [ 15 ] and another study suggested that it can also serve as a functional target for therapeutic intervention [ 16 ]. Subsequent gene profiling and pathway analysis of CD105 high cells showed high activation of TGF-beta in these cells [ 17 ]. TGF beta is an inducer of EMT and promotes tumorigenesis and metastasis by EMT [ 18 20 ].…”

“…Due to the high affinity of Glut1 for glucose molecules, it can transport glucose molecules into cells even at a low concentration. Studies have found that Glut1 is overexpressed in the retina and glomerulus of T2DM patients (11,12). As anaerobic glycolysis is an inefficient method of energy production, cancer cells require enhanced glucose supply.…”

“…HRQOL has been increasingly used in cancer patients and could help clinicians and public health service providers for optimal medical treatment and health policy (1). HRQOL of cancer patients could also be affected by cancer types and cancer treatments (36, 22). As a venous catheter for long-term drug delivery, PICC may be associated with negative impact on patients’ physical and emotional social status.…”

“…Due to the small sample, previous studies did not show substantial evidence of HRQOL in cancer patients with PICC. Besides, HRQOL of cancer patients could also be affected by cancer types (2, 22, 23). Comparison of HRQOL in different types of cancer patients with PICC was unclear.…”
