“…In another study conducted by Kamphuis et al similar findings were reported; health-related quality of life was poorer in patients with the history of complex CHD surgery compared with the general population (27). Pragt et al exhibited that the quality of life in CHD patients with prosthetic valve was lower than the general population (28). Since no statistical significance was observed in the current study, further carefully designed studies with a greater sample size are necessary to demonstrate any potential relationship between age, sex, type of disease, a history of corrective cardiac surgery and satisfaction with life in CHD patients.…”

“…A few strengths of this study are as follows: first, patients after SAVR had severe physical and psychological symptoms, which seriously reduced their QoL (Mair et al, 2012;Pragt et al, 2019).…”

“…Anxiety, psychological distress and irritability are also commonly experienced (Styra et al, 2020 ; Terrosu et al, 2022 ). In addition, surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) is still the standard treatment for AVD patients, but the self‐management ability such as medication compliance, disease management capacity and psychological challenges faced by patients after SAVR may also reduce their original QoL (Mair et al, 2012 ; Pragt et al, 2019 ). The conception of QoL encompasses multiple dimensions, covering physical, psychological, social and mental health indices (Yuan et al, 2021 ).…”
