While the attempts to deploy drones in the foodservice industry focus on the technical aspects, research studies from behavioral perspectives that support service substantially are still in their infancy. When new technology-based services are introduced, it is crucial to examine and understand consumers’ perceptions by identifying a set of actions that influence acceptance and fulfilling their target. Therefore, service providers of drone food delivery (DFD) services need to identify significant factors that influence potential consumers to use drone delivery. Although a few existing models are significant, these models lack a comprehensive basic theory that addresses factors which influence consumers’ intention and behavior. To overcome this limitation and propose a more comprehensive model, relevant research studies from the domain of drone delivery services and other emerging technology such as IoT, Autonomous Vehicles, and Mobile Banking are identified, reviewed, and analyzed, and ten potential factors are subsequently extracted. This study’s data were collected from 209 participants who regularly order food online for delivery and were analyzed using SPSS. Descriptive statistics, reliability, Pearson correlation, regression analysis, r-squared, and standardized beta coefficient analyses are carried out to present the study’s findings. The results show that there is a significant relationship between behavioral intention and the user behavior of DFD. Although the participants in this study are yet to experience drone technology in the foodservice domain, the identified factors explain around 32.9% of the variation in the use behavior of DFD services. In the early stage of adoption, it is highly recommended for stakeholders to conduct marketing campaigns through media channels such as television and different social media platforms to bring awareness of this technology.

PurposeThis study aims to address two objectives: to analyse how the benefits of quality management (QM) are perceived on specific productivity indicators of the Colombian dairy industry and to analyse the degree of QM implementation.Design/methodology/approachThe methodology used was a multiple case study and involved four companies in the Colombian dairy industry. The study variables were 32 QM practices and 7 productivity indicators. Data collection instruments were in-depth interviews and checklists.FindingsFindings revealed that all productivity indicators exhibit changes after QM implementation. In addition, cases approaching ISO 9001 have the highest number of practices implemented, as well as evidence of control of all productivity indicators, which allows them to perceive greater benefits.Originality/valueThis research generates novel findings that contribute to the consolidation of theory by analysing changes in specific productivity indicators of the dairy industry after the QM implementation. At the same time, it provides valuable and useful information for managers, practitioners and policymakers.

The purpose of the present review paper is to provide a preliminary review related to current research on the implementation of food safety regulations, and the impact on three dimensions of food security level namely food resources, food production, and logistics. All 16 research papers published in 2016 - 2023 on implementation of food regulations among food industries in Malaysia were collected from Google Scholar and discussed herein. The main factors that contribute to low number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with food safety assurance certification are due to high certification and business renovation costs, language barrier between industries and authorities, as well as lack of motivation and knowledge among SMEs. In addition, the negligence of food manufacturers in following regulations leaves negative impact on Malaysia’s food security level. The present review suggests future research on food fraud, food defence, and stability of food resources to secure higher level of food safety and security.
