Quality evaluation of the k 0-standardized neutron activation analysis at the Dalat research reactor

Abstract: Quality evaluation of the k 0 -standardized neutron activation analysis (k 0 -NAA) at Dalat research reactor (DRR) has been implemented by analyzing the SMELS, a synthetic multi-element standard material as well as the certified reference materials for purposes of validation and verification of the method. The results revealed that the k 0 -NAA established at DRR has met the requirements of multi-element analysis for the intended applications with about 42 elements: Al, As, and Zr in matrices of environment, g… Show more

“…In case of INAA, the SMELS III sample was sealed in a polyethylene bag and irradiated for 09 hours at the Rotary Rack channel of Dalat research reactor. The ratio f between thermal and epithermal neutron flux is 37.3 and epithermal neutron spectrum factor α is 0.073 [7]. The measurement was carried out for about ~18 hours after ~5 days of decay.…”

“…Similar to our previous study 21 , the neutron irradiations were performed for 10 hours on Rotary Rack at a thermal neutron ux of approximately 3.59´10 12 n.cm -2 .s -1 of Dalat Nuclear Research Reactor, Vietnam. At this position, the deviation of the epithermal neutron spectrum and the ratio of thermal/epithermal neutron uxes were a = 0.073 ± 0.001, and f = 37.3 ± 0.4, respectively 52 . The nuclear reactions of interest in this study were 75 As(n, g) 76 As (T = 26.32 h, E g = 559.1 keV), 81 Br(n, g) 82 Br (T = 35.30 h, E g = 776.5 keV), 59 Co(n, g) 60 Co (T = 5.27 y, E g = 1332.5 keV), 50 Cr(n, g) 51 After 12 days of decay, the sample was measured for two hours on HPGe gamma spectroscopy (Canberra, USA) with an energy resolution of 2.0 keV at the 1332.2 keV peak of 60 Co.…”
