“…In a study that used administrative data of 14,064 patients from Ontario, Baxter et al 44 found that endoscopist's specialty (non-gastroenterologist) and setting (non-hospitalbased colonoscopy) were likely associated with a greater risk of postcolonoscopy CRC. In The Netherlands, the majority of colonoscopies (O80%) are performed by gastroenterologists, 47 although traditionally a significant proportion of post-CRC resection surveillance colonoscopies were performed by colorectal surgeons, which also was the case in this study, particularly in the university hospital.
