Quality Criteria for Enterprise Modelling in the Context of Networked Enterprises

Abstract: The capability for collaboration is a key success factor for networked enterprises. The paper introduces a methodology supporting the application of Enterprise Modelling in order to improve the maturity for collaboration. The methodology considers the current status of maturity for interoperability for deducing the right modelling approach. The approach is combined with quality criteria of the models in order to guide the modelling process. Both the deducing approach and the quality criteria are related to the… Show more

“…The EIMM (Berre et al, 2007;Knothe & Jochem, 2007) or MMEI (Maturity Model for Enterprise Interoperability) (Guedria, Chen, & Naudet, 2009) as it is known nowadays, contains 5 levels: unprepared (level 0), defined (level 1), aligned (level 2), organized (level 3) and adapted (level 4), and it includes metrics as well. Since the model is fairly new, usage is limited, but this might change when this model is given an ISO (11354-2) status.…”

“…In order to generate useful customized views from an enterprise model, it is necessary to ensure an appropriated level of model granularity (Knothe et al, 2007) (Knothe et al, 2006) (Knothe et al, 2005). In the INTRACOM Telecom cases the model has to contain detailed information about process flow as well involved roles, relevant documents and IT applications.…”
