Compassion fatigue among frontline healthcare workers during the covid-19 pandemic in Tunisia

“…Overall, the study respondents reported moderate levels of compassion satisfaction, burnout and secondary traumatic stress. These findings join those of a similar Tunisian study performed during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic among 250 HCWs in public and private healthcare facilities, revealing that the sampled HCWs experimented moderate levels of compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue [ 25 ]. Of note, 5% of participants in our study experienced high levels of compassion fatigue which was in concordance with a prior study conducted by Cho Lee Wong et al [ 16 ].…”
