Qualidade da dieta de adolescentes e fatores associados

Abstract: The aim of this study was to analyze adolescents' diet quality and associated factors using the Revised Diet Quality Index (DQI-R). A cross-sectional study was performed with 1,326 adolescents from public and private schools. Food intake was measured using a food frequency questionnaire. Crude prevalence ratio was used to evaluate the association between high DQI-R (≥ 75th percentile) and independent variables. Variables with p-value < 0.20 were included in the Poisson regression analysis. Mean DQI-R was 75.1 … Show more

“…In the present study, the BHEI-R included only 11 components due to lack of specifications on the type of cereals in the FFQ; thus, points assigned to "whole grains" were added to "total cereals", maintaining a score equal to 100. Further details regarding the analysis of BHEI-R in this population have been published previously [28].…”

“…However, in Brazil, only Wendpap et al 25 had previously used the BHEI-R to evaluate the diet quality of 1,326 10-14 year-old adolescents from Cuiabá, Mato Grosso State, which presented a mean BHEI-R of 75.1 points. The difference in the BHEI-R between adolescents in Niterói and Cuiabá can be explained by the use of a food frequency questionnaire to obtain data on food consumption in Cuiabá.…”
