Qual a Evidência Atual para o Retorno à Atividade Desportiva Profissional após Fratura Cervical? A Propósito de um Caso Clínico

Abstract

Sports activity represents one of the most common causes of traumatic cervical injuries, with major impact in patients’ quality of life. There is controversy regarding guidelines for safe return to sports, mainly in contact/collision sports and among patients submitted to surgical treatment of cervical injuries. The authors report a clinical case of a young athlete treated with cervical corpectomy and anterior instrumented arthrodesis due to a cervical fracture, his clinical recovery with progressive return to sports and perform a revision on this topic.
