Big data is one of the major pioneering technologies of our time. Big data is not only used to refer to the recent massive data growth in various sectors but also to describe a new computing model capable of managing efficiently and accurately the new generation of data sets whatever their volumes, types or characteristics. Running big data inside an organization can be a challenging mission as a consequence to the required infrastructure implementation and management higher cost. From this perspective, cloud computing radiates as a strong candidate to host and manage big data workloads efficiently and at a reduced price. On the one hand, cloud computing is a robust Information Technology solution acclaimed with it extensive computing abilities. On the other hand, moving big data to the cloud can be very complex due to Quality of Service criteria defined between the provider and the end-user. On this context, cloud computing platforms need to be re-evaluated and reexamined to offer a resilient foundation for big data storage and processing. Furthermore, cloud computing QoS stipulations has to be defined, weighed and mapped rationally to big data characteristics in order to highlight the most significant parts that requires specific consideration or optimization in pursuance of a cloud computing service dedicated for big data or big data as a service.

Cloud computing has been emerging out as a new and evolving paradigm with tremendous momentum. It is one of the most acceptable information technology based service which drew the attention of the people not only from the academia, industry but also registered its popularity among the general people. Features like scalability, elasticity, less entry cost, easy to access and subscription and pay per use etc. compel the businesses and end users to migrate themselves from the traditional platform to the cloud based platform. With the wide acceptability of cloud computing based services in the society, people have various myths like some think it as a new name of internet, as it shares many features of the internet while others feel it as another name of existing technology like distributed system, grid computing, and parallel computing etc.. This paper will help in making people aware of this technology by highlighting the points of difference with the existing technology and focusing on the various advantages and area of application which presents the evidence of its popularity and continual growth. The work in the paper will end with the discussion on the status of various issues and shortcomings from which it is suffering along with the present and future scope in this popular area.

The number of web services available on the internet has exploded, and as a result, the number of services with the same functionality has exploded as well. Therefore, selecting the best web service from functionally similar services is a critical task in the web service domain. The Quality of Service (QoS) is one of the most common criteria used to select the best web service. Collaborative filtering (CF) has been utilized in several studies to predict the values of QoS attributes of web services for each user in a personalized way. The QoS histories of other users are employed in these methods to predict the QoS values of the active user. Although these methods function well and produce acceptable prediction results, the accuracy of their predictions can be harmed by incorrect data provided by untrustworthy users. In this study, we propose a new model that reduces the impact of unreliable user data, resulting in a trustworthy prediction. This model can be applied to any existing prediction method. In experiments, the proposed model was applied to seven known prediction methods. The results indicate that this model is able to eliminate the impact of unreliable users.
