QoE and energy efficiency aware resource allocation for OFDM systems in group mobility environments

Abstract: SUMMARY The global information and communication technology industry is a fast growing contributor to the electrical energy consumption, especially for the base stations, accounting for a substantial amount of the energy use. Inherently, a resource allocation strategy including subchannels blackout would reduce energy consumption. In this paper, energy efficient resource allocation algorithms are addressed for the OFDM system in group mobility environments, suffering from high intercarrier interference. We fir… Show more

“…Actually, there are some attempts on QoE-oriented resource allocation [37].The gradual resource allocation algorithm is proposed in [38], which aims to address the energy efficiency while guarantee the perceived QoE level of users. The authors in [39] aim to improve the QoE levels for all users rather than guarantee the QoE level.…”

“…In [19], transmit power to be allocated to different sub-channels for maximization of energy efficiency in an OFDMA system is adapted. In [20], sub-channel allocation schemes for an OFDM system to maximize energy efficiency and quality of experience for users are proposed. In [21], bi-objective optimization problem to find sub-channel indices with corresponding transmit power for joint maximization of spectral and energy efficiency in an OFDM system is devised.…”
