Abstract:Techniques are described for simulating a line-to-ground fault with a delta-groundedwye transformer between the machine and the fault and using single-pole switching to clear the fault. Set forth in detail is the analytical technique for simulating such a fault in an all-qdO simulation. This technique eliminates the necessity of inductance matrix inversion, allows a variable step integration algorithm to be used for second swing stability analysis, and yields a computationally faster solution than a phase vari… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
